The
TRADITIONAL KARATE
ASSOCIATION
was
founded in 1980 by Kaicho Ricky Adams,
Hachidan to preserve
the "Traditional"
values of Respect,
Honesty, Loyalty,
Discipline, Attitude
development,
physical fitness,
etc.
The
"oriental-eastern
philosophy" deity
worship is NOT a
part of our
curriculum.
After learning over
100 katas, bunkai
oyo, (technical
application), and
Henka Waza
(extrapolation of
technique)
encompassing Karate,
Kobudo, and Iaido, Adams
decided to create
the TKA in an effort
to preserve these
kata in the exact
sequence and
movement he was
taught. The TKA has
become a conduit for
the instruction of
these Kata to the
public.
